San Francisco 49ers’ head coach Jim Harbaugh appreciates Randy Moss and Alex Smith – NFL News

San Francisco 49ers’ head coach, Jim Harbaugh, has appreciated the performance of veteran wide receiver, Randy Moss, and quarterback, Alex Smith, saying that both are performing very well during the offseason workouts.
While giving an interview to KNBR-AM, Harbaugh appreciated the leadership skills of Moss and said that his experience is proving very beneficial for other players in the team.
Moss has played in the National Football League (NFL) for over 10 years and he is making a return this year after missing the last season completely.
He had announced retirement after the 2010 season, but later took the decision back and joined the 49ers on a one-year deal.
When asked about the importance of Moss’ presence in the locker room, Harbaugh said that the veteran receiver has added value to the unit and that he is just like a coach.
Harbaugh said of Moss:
"In the classroom, he sits in the front row, he soaks up the knowledge and also gives the feedback, too. He's a coach. He's like a coach. You know, like the way Alex Smith is now becoming.”
He added:
“I mean Alex knows as much as anybody, as much as any of our offensive coaches do at this point. And Randy has picked it up so fast because he's seen so much football."
Meanwhile, he also commended Smith’s performance and said that the quarterback knows the team’s offence even better than some coaches.
Smith has been playing with the 49ers since starting his professional career in 2005 and he staged his career-best performance last season, which was Harbaugh’s first year as the team’s head coach.
Harbaugh was of the view that the quarterback has developed himself into a good player and praised his strength. The head coach said of Smith:
"When he first came into the league as a young, skinny 20-year-old, and watch him develop and watch him -- maybe call it a late-bloomer physically, but he's really a man now. A real strong man."
Meanwhile, the head coach also commented on the performance of Michael Crabtree and said that he is one of the best receivers he has ever seen.
