San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh not taking New York Giants lightly – NFL News
Even though many experts have predicted that San Francisco 49ers will defeat the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants this Sunday, San Francisco head coach Jim Harbaugh has refused to buy these claims.
49ers are 4-1 after Week 5 and leading National Football Conference (NFC) West along with Arizona Cardinals (4-1).
Giants, on the other hand, did not get off to a good start like 49ers, but they are still leading NFC East along with Philadelphia Eagles after winning three of their five games.
Overall, 49ers have played much better than Giants, especially during the last two games in which San Francisco was brilliant.
49ers’ only defeat in the season came against Minnesota Vikings, a team that could have been defeated easily by San Francisco.
This is why Harbaugh wants everyone not to get carried away with the recent performance his team has shown. He has hoped to continue the winning run, but not ruled out facing tough challenge from Giants.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Harbaugh said that his team can beat the defending champion only if the players prepare and play well.
The head coach has urged his players to be ready to face any kind of challenge in order to be successful. Harbaugh said:
“The law of averages say that you’re not going to keep getting the breaks. You’re not going to stay at that spot. But, I think if you understand the concept of scary good then you have a chance. Stay on your toes. Keep your guard up. Stay paranoid. And come
out here every day and do what you believe in, which is the preparation. Make this meeting the best possible meeting it could be. Make this practice the best one of the season. Each down, each series, each game. The brilliance is in the basics.”
Meanwhile, Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has also acknowledged that many experts are favouring 49ers over his team.
As usual, Coughlin is up for giving the response on the field this Sunday. The Giants head coach believes in walking the walk and wants his team to show its class by performing well.
