San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh on St. Louis Rams’ tie: It’s a strange feeling – NFL News
San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, whose team played a tie against St. Louis Rams in Week 10, has expressed his views on the game’s outcome saying it is a strange feeling to play a tie.
49ers were 10 points behind Rams in the final quarter. They rallied from behind and ended the regulation in a tie after which both teams missed the respective game-winning opportunities in overtime.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Harbaugh said of the game:
“It’s a strange feeling, the fact that we don’t win the game. But, you’re proud of your players the way they fought and they hung in there. That game could have gone several different ways. To be in a position to have a chance to win the game and then we
don’t win the game, on one hand you’re very proud of your players and we all take accountability that we didn’t get the job done.”
49ers are still leading National Football Conference (NFC) West, but a victory against Rams would have given them an advantage over other teams of the division. At present, 49ers are tied with Seattle Seahawks, but since the latter has more defeats than
the former, 49ers still have a sole lead in the division.
49ers will play their Week 11 game against Chicago Bears and Harbaugh now wants his players to completely ignore the result of Week 10 game and dedicate their entire energy towards preparing for the next encounter.
He said:
“The most important thing right now is for us to rally, reinvigorate ourselves, come back strong this week against a very formidable opponent and that’s what we’ll set our sights on.”
Meanwhile, the head coach also updated status of quarterback Alex Smith, who left the Rams’ game after suffering a concussion.
Harbaugh has not yet said anything about Smith’s participation in Week 11 game, but he has confirmed that the player was feeling well the next day after suffering the injury. If the 49ers clear him to play, Smith will be assessed by an independent neurologist
before getting the green signal to play.
