San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh reflects on victory against Seattle Seahawks – NFL News
San Francisco 49ers’ Week 7 victory over Seattle Seahawks was very important for a number of reasons.
First, it gave the 49ers sole dominance in National Football Conference (NFC) West. Second, they were able to come out of the gloomy phase that had surrounded them after Week 6 loss against defending champions New York Giants. Third, it was a very physical
game against a very good defence and to come victorious certainly deserves applause.
It was a low-scoring game in which only one touchdown was scored; the first half saw a total of nine points scored, while a total of 10 points were scored in the second half.
The running game of both teams surprisingly went pretty good as both Frank Gore (49ers) and Marshawn Lynch (Seahawks) led their respective sides impressively.
According to 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, it was the most physical game he had ever seen from his players.
As per the details present on the team’s website, Harbaugh said of the game:
“That was the most physical 30 minutes of football, in that second half, that I’ve ever seen our team play. And just really, really pleased the way they covered kicks all night. The way we played defence. The way we played offence. The way we moved people
up front. It was a physical first half, too. But, that second half was the most physical I’ve ever see our football team play. Really proud of them for that.”
Meanwhile, Harbaugh also shared his views about the interception quarterback Alex Smith had thrown in the game.
Coming off a three-interception game against Giants, Smith was already under pressure, but he seemingly did well to weather the storm, for the time being. He threw one interception and got one touchdown, helping his side to get back on winning ways.
Smith was aiming to throw the ball to wide receiver Randy Moss when he got intercepted. Harbaugh maintained that Smith had made a right call to thrown the pass to Moss, but the head coach said that the ball should have been thrown at a different angle. Harbaugh
said
“Get it up high where you take the interception out of the equation. But, thought Alex had a very good game, made really good decisions.”
