San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh takes a look at New York Giants – NFL News
After two straight victories in which the San Francisco 49ers completely outclassed their opponents, they are going to take on the defending Super Bowl champions New York Giants in Week 6 game.
While 49ers are atop National Football Conference (NFC) West division, tied with Arizona Cardinals at 4-1, Giants are atop NFC East, tied with Philadelphia Eagles at 3-2.
Both teams have won their respective Week 5 games and are upbeat about facing each other in Week 6 encounter.
While Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has refrained from commenting on his team’s Week 6 opponents, 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has said that his team will be up against a balanced and disciplined unit.
Soon after the victory in Week 5 game, Coughlin said that he would comment on preparations about Week 6 game later this week.
49ers are also expected to shed light in detail on Week 6 encounter, but Harbaugh still managed to utter some words of praise for the defending champions.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Harbaugh said of Giants:
“We’re already seeing the obvious things. The outstanding team that they are. Explosive offence. Very balanced. Exceptionally balanced. They do everything well offensively. And defensively, the same. Great up front. Just all-around top team in the league.”
Last season, 49ers had a remarkable run in the league. They easily qualified for the playoffs, but their Super Bowl hopes were dented by Giants, who defeated San Francisco in NFC championship game to qualify for the title game.
It will be the first time since the last season’s NFC championship game that these two sides will face each other.
When asked about what changes he has seen in 49ers offence this year as compared to the last year’s offence, Harbaugh said
“They’ve been consistently good with their attitude, their approach. Talent level I think has been upgraded and guys are playing really well. Playing really well together. Again, talk about just a good attitude amongst the offensive players. Whatever they
can do to help the team move and score points and pick up first downs, etcetera, they’re doing it very much as a group and as a team.”
