San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman agreed to extend his contract for five years on Tuesday.
Bowman will remain with 49ers through the 2018 season and he will earn $45.25 million with $25.5 million guaranteed over the life of the contract.
Bowman is happy with his contract extension and said during a press conference:
"For me to get this deal done just means a lot, and it shows that the organization trusts me and I'm just happy to be a part of it."
He was selected as 91st overall pick in third round of the 2010 National Football League (NFL) draft by 49ers. In his rookie season he had 46 tackles in 16 games.

Talking about Bowman, 49ers’ general manager Trent Baalke said, according to 49ers’ website:
"NaVorro epitomizes what we look for in a 49er. We are excited that the All Pro tandem of Willis and Bowman will be together in red and gold for years to come."
49ers have made their defence line stronger for a few more years by having contracts with players, including inside linebacker Patrick Willis who is signed through the 2016 season. Willis has 89 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an
interception in this season.
Outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks will play until the end of the 2017 season. He has 33 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumble and an interception.
