San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick getting better with every game – NFL News
When San Francisco 49ers quarter Colin Kaepernick got the starting role after replacing concussed Alex Smith, it seemed justified. However, many concerns were raised when head coach Jim Harbaugh decided to continue with Colin after Smith reported complete
recovery.
Although Smith had not done anything to lose his starting job, Harbaugh made a daring call by naming Colin starter.
Colin initially replaced Smith during Week 10 game against St. Louis Rams. The game ended in a tie.
Since then, Colin has started five games and has won four of them, showing improvement in every game. His recent performance is even more commendable as he was superb against the New England Patriots.
Colin finished the Pats game completing 14 of his 25 passes for 216 yards and scored four touchdowns. Although he also sent an interception, the number of touchdowns was simply amazing.
49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is of the view that Colin is getting better with every game. According to the details present on the team’s website, the 49ers head coach said of Colin:
“I think he was poised, he had a great understanding of the offense from the very first time he went out and took a snap this season and then from the time he took his first start until now. Definitely the game experience, the playing play after play, exposes
you to different situations. That’s good for you, it’s going to lead to improvement. I wouldn’t call it dramatic improvement. I think he’s been at a pretty high level.”
This season, Colin has completed a total of 101 passes of 154 passes for 1,289 yards and scored five passing touchdowns. As far as rushing is concerned, the quarterback has gained 379 yards on 53 attempts while scoring five touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Harbaugh has also appreciated Seattle Seahawks rookie quarterback Russell Wilson, who is in amazing form and has led the team to many wins this season.
Seahawks and 49ers are going to face each other next week and fortunately for both of them their quarterbacks are in top form. Harbaugh said of both these quarterbacks:
“I think they’re two very good quarterbacks, they’re different quarterbacks. They’re not mirror images.”
