San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore feeling “a lot better” – NFL News
San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore has said that he is feeling “a lot better” after suffering a rib injury during Week 7 game against Seattle Seahawks. However, the player has still not started practising properly and is recovering gradually.
Gore bruised his ribs when a Seahawks defenseman hit him from the back. He completed the game, but was in pain after it. However, the injury did not prevent him from staging his best performance of the season.
The running back has said that he is getting better daily. According to the details present on the team’s website, the running back said:
“Little moments here and there. When I first did it, it was constant. Every time I breathed, I could feel it. I feel a lot better.”
49ers are leading National Football Conference (NFC) West and they are now going to take on Arizona Cardinals, who are ranked at second spot in the division.
Although Gore has not started practising, he is hopeful that he will be available for the game against the Cards. He said:
“Just taking it one day at a time. But I feel good. I should be all right.”
If Gore is unable to take the field against Cardinals, which is highly unlikely, the 49ers might try out Brandon Jacobs, for the first time in the season.
Jacobs, who joined the team earlier this year after parting ways with New York Giants, recently complained about not getting playing time. However, he later clarified his stance and came to terms with the team management.
49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh did not comment on the possibility of Gore’s absence and replacing him with Jacobs. However, he did share his views on Jacobs’ case. When asked about the team’s plans for Jacobs, Harbaugh said:
“I think that’s all decided on the field. Brandon came here, in training camp was doing very well and got injured. Then he is working his way back. That’s a process that’s going on and simultaneously you have some guys who have played very well at that position.
So I would say it’s a process.”
