San Francisco 49ers’ running back Frank Gore fit to play against Arizona Cardinals – NFL News
After leaving last week’s game against the New York Giants unfinished owing to an injury, San Francisco 49ers’ running back Frank Gore is set to participate in the week 11 game of the National Football League where his team will
take on Arizona Cardinals at Candlestick Park on Sunday.
Fore, who had a sprained left ankle before the game against Giants, left the match in the second quarter after a tackle that seemed to have injured his right knee. He was replaced by Kendall Hunter who had 40 yards for six carries
with a touchdown, averaging 6.7 yards per carry.
Just like his fans, Gore was also disappointed on leaving the field and said that he could have finished the game.
“Someone twisted me up. I felt like I could have played,” he said after the victory against Giants 27-20.
Gore has played nine games with five touchdowns this season. He has 782 yards on 165 carries and maintains an average for 4.7 yards per carry. He debuted in 2005 for 49ers and has remained with the club since then. The star player
has rushed for a total of 7,196 yards in his career, and needs just 149 more yards to pass the late Hall of Famer Joe Perry who holds the franchise record for most rushing yards.
49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has said that Gore will make it to the starting line-up against Cardinals. However, he also said that the team has got a stable back at the moment and Gore could be given time to recover if he needs
it.
“I would plan on (Gore) playing, but you just feel right now, well, we’ve got a stable of backs,” the coach said. “You know, we’ve got Frank Gore. We’ve got Kendall Hunter. We’ve got fresh legs in Anthony Dixon. This bodes very
well for our team.”
With eight victories and only one defeat, San Francisco 49ers stand at second spot in the league ranking and are the leader boards in the National Football Conference West division. They have an average of 310.4 yards (179.6 yards
and 130.9 yards) per game.
