San Francisco Giants’ Madison Bumgarner makes a perfect rebound: MLB Update
Madison Bumgarner made a perfect rebound to take the San Francisco Giants into their 3-1 triumph over Cleveland Indians’ 3-1 in third-straight night, at his home AT&T Park, on Sunday June 26, to help his club gain their series sweep.
The 21-year-old pitcher cleaned away the splashes of the last game, making his career's high eleven strike-outs over a normal seven innings spell. The left-handed pitcher was crushed in the first inning of the last game by the striking batting line-up of
the Minnesota Twins. In the game played on June 21, he allowed eight runs on nine hits right in the first inning and his spell lasted for just 25 pitches.
The player, who was drafted two year earlier by the Giants, however proved him as having strong and conceded just one run on six hits and allowed one walk to earn his fourth win of the season. Despite acting as per the expectations of his manager Bruce Bochy,
the last concert still kept haunting Bumgarner, as it was evident from his conversation with the reporters after the game.
He said, "I am not going to say there wasn't any doubt. There was a little doubt. It was tough to forget about a start like that. I tried to put it behind me the best I could."
Bumgarner’s last game was a true catastrophic blow for the Giants' bullpen. Their every single member was in shock and catcher, Chris Stewart, having seen the pitches going all around the field, was frozen. However, Stewart was impressed the way and how
quickly Bumgarner recovered.
He said, "Obviously that was a fluke that happened last time. That is one of those things that just happened. I think he got over it pretty quick. As soon as the night was over he got over it. He went out, threw his bullpen session and came in today ready
to dominate and he did."
His opponents too were bewildered to make such an unbelievable recuperation as they had prepared their minds to take advantage of the pressure under which Bumgarner should be after a historical bad outing. However, Bumgarner washed away not only the Indians’
hopes, but also all the accusations of his foes.
Even the Indians’ catcher Lou Marson could not restrict praising Bumgarner. He delivered unplayable swinging fastballs, utilised some of his out-of-the-box pitches that completely crushed the Indians' batting line up and Marson was of the same opinion.
The left-handed pitcher now has 4-9 win-loss record with 3.84 ERA after sixteen starts in this season. Experts believe this exhibition could put him into a winning track or even more devastating than this.
