San Francisco Giants crush Los Angeles Dodgers 8-4 – MLB Recap
San Francisco Giants crushed the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-4 in the final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, August 22 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
"It was one of those series where it just didn't seem like anything went our way," Dodgers' manager Don Mattingly said.
Giants’ entire roster played well and earned a great victory in the end. Their experienced batters took an early lead and later strengthened it with great perseverance.
"We have a lot of talent here, and these guys stepped it up, You hate to lose one of your best players, but it's how you deal with it, and those guys have. You have no choice. These guys have done a great job of putting it behind them," Manager Bruce Bochy said.
Centre fielder Angel Pagan did well with the bat as he scored three runs in the Giants’ win. He batted well and maintained his slugging percentage of .427.
Second baseman Marco Scutaro also played aggressive and scored two runs and smashed two hits on his five at-bats while his slugging percentage also remained consistent at .381.
Shortstop Joaquin Arias was the most successful hitter in the Giants’ roster as he added five RBIs on his four at-bats which proved certainly very productive in his team’s overall score.
"I'm very proud of what I did because everyone goes out there every day and tries to produce," Arias said.
Not only hitters, but the Giants’ pitchers also did very well and earned a decisive victory for their team.
Starter Matt Cain pitched seven innings and received only one run and seven hits. He struck-out five while his ERA remained consistent at 2.83.
"It put a little pressure on you because you want to keep everything going on your end," said Cain.
