San Francisco Giants defeat Colorado Rockies 6-3 – MLB Update
San Francisco Giants put in a good performance as they defeated Colorado Rockies 6-3 at Coors Field, Denver on Tuesday, April 19.
The Giants are defiantly on fire as they keep on proving time and again why they’re the reigning World Series Champions. Their last two nights at the Coors Field have been victorious for them and they seem keen on keeping it that way.
Just like the previous night the Giants had a five run lead before their ace pitcher Tim Lincecum even stepped on the mound. Everyone knows about the Giants rotation and how it’s a hard task to beat them, but if they come with a five runs lead, credit has
to be given to the Rockies for trying to catch up.
"It would be nice to not spot them four runs," Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki said. "It's a tough uphill battle for us, especially with the pitchers that they have."
In the duration of six and one-third innings, Jonathan Sanchez gave up two hits. At the end of the day the Giants were successful in defeating the Colorado Rockies.
Pablo Sandoval belted out a three run homer at the start of the game which was quite the way to start. "It's great when you start the game 4-0," Sanchez said. "You can just go out there and pitch, throw the ball and see what happens."
The Giants on Wednesday will be trying to go for a sweep as Matt Cain comes to face off with Jorge De La Rosa.
"He didn't have that 98 mph fastball he had last year," Aubrey Huff said of Jimenez. "Obviously, coming off the DL he's probably just feeling it out a little bit. Still had some great off-speed stuff tonight. Pablo jumped on him but he pitched well after
that. After that first inning he kind of settled down."
It seemed like Sanchez was trying to follow Lincecum’s footsteps that had seven innings without a hit. Sanchez managed to come pretty close by giving up a single hit through six innings
A perfect eighth inning was delivered by Javier Lopez and Brain Wilson finished the game after he got the final three batters out as he made his fifth save within six chances.
