San Francisco Giants defeat Miami Marlins 3-2 – MLB Recap
The San Francisco Giants defeated the Miami Marlins in the fourth and final game of their four-game regular series encounter on Sunday, May 27 at Marlins Park, Miami in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
This game was a series decider for the Marlins as they defeated the Giants in back to back two games, but instead the Marlins could have outclassed San Francisco again, they fell short in the ninth and lost narrowly.
Left Fielder Melky Cabrera played wonderfully and went 4 for four leading his team to save the series 2-2.
"Now I'm really happy," the Dominican outfielder said through a translator. "I didn't know that I was up there in the ranks of Willie Mays, but I'm honored to be mentioned in the same sentence. The ball hit me on the dive, I don't know if it hit me clean
or not, but the ball grazed me, but I'm OK."
The Marlins starter Ricky Nolasco could not play his natural game and lost his composure in his entire seven innings as he went with three crucial runs along with three earned runs.
"He's just hitting everything right now, so there's not much you can do," Nolasco said. "You make good pitches on him and he still finds a hole. Not fun seeing him when he's hot like that.”
The Marlins entered into this game with huge excitement as they had some spirited performances in the past two games. However, soon they realised that their opponents are more aggressive and they are here to match them with tough offence.
The Giants’ took the early lead in the very first inning with the help of their left fielder Cabrera who smashed a homer to right field. Taking the early advantage in the first, the Giants strengthened their lead with one more run into fourth.
On the other hand, the Marlins tried to bounce back in the fifth and bottom sixth when they added two runs while these two runs were eventually proved no good for them as they Giants with another run in the seventh, took the game away in style.
