San Francisco Giants defeat Milwaukee Brewers 6-4 – MLB Recap
The San Francisco Giants defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 6-4 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, May 22 at Miller Park, Milwaukee in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
With this win, the Giants have also won the series 2-0 with one game still to play on Wednesday, May 23 at the same venue.
Catcher Buster Posey played well for the Giants as he hit two-run homer in the sixth inning and gave his team a well balanced win.
"That was a long game yesterday, To come back today and feel good is a good sign. It seemed like when he got in trouble, he really beared down and made some quality pitches," Posey said.
The Giants starter Matt Cain played a handy role for his team giving away only four runs and eleven hits. He also went with four earned runs and struck out eight Brewers batters.
"A lot of them were over the plate and bad location," Cain said. "But we were able to score some runs and keep the momentum on our side, and that was good."
On the other hand, the Brewers starter was all over the place with his waivered pitching in which he allowed six important runs and five hits.
"We're just waiting for something to click," Milwaukee's Nyjer Morgan said. "Don't know when. That's the most frustrating thing about it."
The Giants from start of the game kept things in right direction with early lead in the very first inning when Posey, Crawford and Miguel Cabrera helped them get their first run.
Later, the Giants started another push in the bottom fourth and rallied past the Brewers with no chance to bounce back in the game.
The score was pushed to six runs in the seventh and eventually rattled the Brewers in their second consecutive encounter.
Despite, the Giants have won this game and also the series, but still they have to work on their pitching offence in order to get the consistent results before mid season break. At the moment they are sitting in a narrow position behind the Los Angeles Dodgers
in the National League West Division.
