San Francisco Giants edge San Diego Padres 6-5 – MLB Update
The San Francisco Giants edge past the San Diego Padres 6-5 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, June 6 at Petco Park in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
With this win, the Giants have levelled the series 1-1 as they had lost the first game 6-5 just one day ago while the final game of the series will be played on Thursday, June 7.
Coming into this game, the Giants from start of the game kept the Padres under pressure and never allowed any extra loop holes during the entire game. Though the game ended with narrow one run’s difference but it was never looked that the padres have any
kind of control on the game.
They struggled from beginning and never able to go into lead instead trailed all the time until losing the game with bitter humiliation.
Starter Madison Bumgarner stood tall with his performance in the entire Giants’ roster. He pitched for six innings and allowed only four runs and seven hits. He also struck out four and maintained his consistence 3.26 ERA.
"I didn't throw very well, Defense picked me up and offense picked me up, too. It was nice to sneak a win out of it. I didn't have command of anything today It just seemed like I was having to constantly make adjustments to try to get the ball where I wanted
it. I had a hard time doing it pretty much the whole game." Madison Bumgarner said.
Later the Padres catcher Nick Hundley said on his team’s poor effort, "The only ball they hit hard in the first inning was Cabrera's, I don't think there were a whole lot of adjustments. The frustration lies with me, It's nobody else's fault but mine.”
This latest defeat cost the Padres with huge humiliation as they now resting at fifth position in the National League West Division with mere .333 winning percentage.
The Giants on the other hand, are at second position in the same division but their 32-25 win-loss and .561 winning percentage is way ahead of the Padres.
