San Francisco Giants extend in-fielder Pablo Sandoval’s contract – MLB News
Finally, the San Francisco Giants and in-fielder Pablo Sandoval have agreed what initially was speculated in the media that both sides are planning to make their relation longer probably for next three years. The Giants’ management agreed to make a potential
three years extension deal worth $17.15 with Sandoval on Tuesday.
Giants’ vice president of baseball operations Bobby Evans said later in the media,
“We all recognize that his conditioning program in the offseason and in season is a big part of that success. We know that there's still a learning curve and work still has to be done. But we feel like Pablo has the desire and commitment to be productive
and elevate his game.”
Evans added,
“I think we’ve seen Pablo’s commitment grow. He’s still very young in the game and young in his potential. With time, I think he’ll continue to prosper in the game as he continues to find a balance of priority in his conditioning. We know that Pablo understands.”
Though, no further details of contract was disclosed in the media, but Pablo’s extension will also buy-out his arbitration-eligible years giving him $3.2 million for the next particular season, $5.7 in 2013 and $8.25 million in 2014.
Last season, Pablo Sandoval managed .312 hitting average along with 23 home runs, 70 RBIs and .357 OBP and received much appreciation from the entire Giants’ roster. Baseball pundits rate him high as a talented in-fielder who has so far achieved .307 hitting
average with 64 homers, 247 RBIs and .356 OBP.
These stats are pretty good for a player who has only three years of experience playing in the Major League Baseball. Since coming into the Giants roster in 2008, Sandoval has been regarded as one of the best players the Giants’ ever had on in-field position.
Sandoval was also the key factor in the Giants World Series winning team in 2010.  He was later selected for All Star game in 2011 while hitting for the cycle in last September also brought him in the limelight.
Now his three more years in the Giants roster will further increase his ability to play at highest level helping the San Francisco Giants for more glory as well.
