San Francisco Giants’ in-fielder Pablo Sandoval looks confident ahead of next season –MLB News
The San Francisco Giants’ in-fielder Pablo Sandoval is looking in good spirits as he arrived at Scottsdale Stadium joining his other team-mates in a confidence manner to start this year’s Spring Training.
A three year veteran with good experience playing at couple of positions in recent times, Sandoval, certainly is a great prospect for the Giants in the long run. Since coming into the Giants’ roster in 2008, Sandoval has developed his game with a pretty fine manner. The Giants’ manager Bruce Bochy is also with the team in Arizona where he observed Sandoval and his developed playing strategy for the upcoming season.
"I thought he looked good," Bochy said. "We've still got two or three days here before we crank up (the position players), but he's here early and getting some work in. That's always a good sign."
Later Sandoval commented in the media and told little details about his future aspirations for his own and for his team. Sandoval said emphasising more on future season’s performance, “You have up and down years, (But) for me, last year was a lesson. Now I know what I can do. Now I know what I have to do. Its part of my work, everybody wants to know what I weigh, I keep working hard to maintain my weight and play. I block those things out; I don't pay too much attention to it."
On a different perspective, this is also a very good sign for the Giants as one of their ace players are getting ready for the competition with full spirit. Last season Sandoval in particular, was the most brilliant player in the Giants roster. He not only carried his team ahead in the regular season but his own game flourished with great pace. Last year Sandoval batted with an average of .315 along with 23 home-runs, 70 RBIs and .357 OBP.
His last season’s performance also contributed in his overall career batting average of .307 with 64 homers, 247 RBIs and .356 OBP. Seeing his 2011 and overall career averages, the next Major League season will be a great opportunity for Sandoval to prove once again his offensive game.
