San Francisco Giants looking to become Champions again in 2011 – MLB News
The journey to the World Series for any team can be a long and arduous one as the San Francisco Giants can attest to. After winning the World Series in 2010 the Giants are looking for another Championship run in 2011.
As the team recently started their pre-spring training sessions, it is obvious to most observers that they are working hard in an attempt to repeat the same type of success they had in 2010. The team is loaded with talent and they have the confidence and
conviction to play hard and quite possibly make to the World Series. However, ambition alone does not win Championships and there are quite a few brilliant teams that are quite capable of taking the crown on any given day.
“I think we can still keep that edge. But I don't think we're going to be the underdogs that we were last year,” Cody Ross said. “But I think we can still have that chip on our shoulder that carried us.”
The players are not hiding their feelings during this early part of the season, as they are sending messages to other teams that the Giants are ready to defend their Championship during the 2011 season. This attitude comes from winning the World Series as
this is the ultimate confidence building tool for any team.
Even the Giants’ management has been making statements regarding their level of confidence to win the Championship again.
“We understand how difficult this is to do. We understand how difficult this is to go forward because we’ve raised the bar,” general manager Brian Sabean said.
The main issue for most of the Giants’ players is to show the league that their victory in 2010 was not a fluke and that they are capable of doing it again.
As Spring Training is about start, the Giants are looking to put in a tremendous effort as they hope to defend their Championship. The team understands the importance of focusing on the field and putting in some decent work-out sessions. The Giants hope
to surprise everyone again and win another World Series title in 2011.
