San Francisco Giants lose to Atlanta Braves 2-3 – MLB Recap
The San Francisco Giants lost to Atlanta Braves 2-3 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Thursday, July 19 at Turner Field in Atlanta.
Despite losing the series, the Braves performed tremendously and never showed any signs of weariness against the Giants. They won the game in style in which their entire roster played combined.
Their pitching line-up and their batters played as one unit and gave a humiliating defeat to the Giants.
Freddie Freeman and David Ross were the main players in the Braves’ roster who maintained the power plays against the Giants and never let them to take control of the game at any point. Instead they both kept their opponents under pressure and eventually won it in the end.
First baseman Freeman scored a run and smashed a hit along with an RBI to place the Braves in a strong position as they later built a strong foundation against the Giants.
Catcher Ross also performed superbly and added one run on his single hit while he also made an RBI as his slugging percentage remained consistent at .512.
Later in the game, Braves’ manager commented on his team's combined effort which gave them a season best winning streak.
He said with confidence, "You lose two in a row after winning seven and it feels like you'll never win again, Big win. It really is a big win after losing that game last night in extra innings and not leaving here until almost 2 in the morning. Coming back on short rest is really huge and could be the biggest win for us this year, depending on how that weekend (at Washington) goes."
Along with batters, the Braves pitchers also performed tremendously and earned a great victory for their team.
Tim Hudson pitched 7.1 innings and received two runs on eight hits along with two earned runs. He struck-out three and his ERA stayed consistent at 3.70. He remained calm on the mound and kept tossing his fast and curving deliveries.
Closer Eric O'Flaherty also performed tremendously and supported his team-mate Hudson well in the Braves’ win.
