San Francisco Giants outperform Colorado Rockies 11-6 – MLB Recap
The San Francisco Giants outperformed the Colorado Rockies 11-6 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Saturday, August 4 at Coors Field in Denver.
Giants’ upfront offence played terrifically as they never gave any chance to the Rockies to control the game. San Francisco had total control over the game and kept the Rockies under pressure throughout the match.
Their entire team played together and as one unit. Giants’ pitchers and at the same time hitters played wonderfully and earned a superb victory for their team. They never showed any loop-holes in their game and eventually proved too good for the Rockies.
"The guys answered back and did a good job the last couple of days, get on the road and maybe the guys will come together and play better get some confidence going,” Giants' manager Bruce Bochy said on his team’s great victory.
He added with confidence, “That's happened here and this is a park where hitters can get their confidence back. It's good to see some guys enjoying some success."
Rockies on the other hand, played defensive and could not display their natural and aggressive ball play.
Their hitters and at the same time pitchers were reluctant to open their game a bit to match the Giants’ brilliance and lost in the end with bitter humiliation.
Rockies’ entire bating prowess remained handcuffed by the Giants’ pitchers. They never attacked on San Francisco pitchers which eventually proved lethal as they lost with a five-run margin.
Rockies' senior players showed little determination and the level of energy that was needed to oust the Giants’ attacking manoeuvres.
"The tough part was we spotted them six in three and two-thirds innings, What I'm proud of is, the guys out there on the field, they keep busting their rear ends. They moved the ball around a little bit against a tough starting pitcher,” Rockies' manager Jim Tracy said.
Madison Bumgarner alone rattled the Rockies’ superior batting line-up as he pitched six solid innings and allowed only one run and simply won the game for the Giants.
