San Francisco Giants outshined by Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 – MLB Recap
The San Francisco Giants outshined by Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, July 29 at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
Giants’ who are playing well in second half of the season, could not maintain their momentum and performed quite poorly against the Dodgers in this particular series.
Their entire pitching rotation played under pressure and hammered with big hits by the Dodgers’ hitters.
From their starting pitcher to reliever, everyone looked tired on the mound as they all showed no fighting spirit throughout the game and eventually lost in the end with bitter humiliation.
Starter Ryan Vogelsong started the game for the Giants and allowed two runs and six hits and one earned run.
He could have showed some better play but the Dodgers’ hitters proved too good against his weak pitches and never gave him any chance to dominate them.
"I need to pick him up right there and come back and get the next guy so it's not an issue, I felt worse about not picking him up after that play than anything else today. That's what happens when you're facing one of the best pitchers in the game right now, One mistake, one run can cost you the game," Vogelsong said on his latest performance and explained in the media about some different aspects which also proved ineffective for the Giants’ big defeat.
"Unfortunately in this game you're going to get it handed to you sometimes, I don't care who you are, it's going to happen to you sometimes. It was the opposite of what happened last time. That's baseball," manager Bruce Bochy said and explained his view point on his team’s performance.
Relief pitcher Clay Hensley on the other end, gave slight strength to their offence with his 0.1 inning’s spell but as soon as closer Jeremy Affeldt came to pitch, the Dodgers once again smashed two hits and scored two runs on his pitching.
From that point of game, the Giants just could not stop the Dodgers who easily finished the game with a decisive third straight victory.
