San Francisco Giants’ pitcher Tim Lincecum struggles in first half of season – MLB News
Recently some different perspectives by baseball experts along with various speculations are coming in the media that San Francisco Giants’ starting pitcher Tim Lincecum will be heading to the Minor League to gain some momentum as he has been performing
poorly in the ongoing Major League Baseball season.
Many experts also agree that this season is one of the worst in the 28-year-old player’s career.
Having 6.42 ERA along with 3-10 win-loss record certainly clears the situation regarding Lincecum’s current form.
Though, speculation of his going into the Minors is still unconfirmed. However, many still think that this is certainly a possibility if Lincecum cannot get his old and natural form which used to rattle opposing batters with dominance.
At the moment, not only the San Francisco Giants’ management but Lincecum himself is worried over his own poor form.
“I think the only way I can look at is … you never want to say, `Hey, I’ve hit rock bottom’ or anything like that, but things are going as bad as they are right now, and you’ve got to go out there like you’ve got nothing left to lose,” Lincecum said. “Go
out and leave it on the field and whatever happens, happens.”
He added, “I have to remember it and use it to know what I don’t want to go through again, It’s been terrible and it’s a terrible feeling you’re letting your team down. That’s the hardest thing.”
Lincecum spoke in the media after the Sunday’s defeat from the Pittsburgh Pirates in which his performance again proved disastrous for his team.
On the other hand, as soon as Giants suffered a huge 13-2 loss at PNC Park, the media rushed towards manager Bruce Bochy and started asking questions regarding the future of Lincecum who was badly hammered in that particular game.
However, Bochy is considered the most optimistic person in the Giants’ roster, rejected all those late speculations and showed confidence in his player. He also told the media that after this mid season break, Lincecum certainly will rise again and regain
his old form. It will be interesting to see what the Giants decide to do about Lincecum, as they will definitely want him to regain his form as soon as possible.
