San Francisco Giants reliever Sergio Romo expresses delight over his team’s season long performance
San Francisco Giants’ relief pitcher Sergio Romo is expressing delight over his team’s tremendous performance in the final game of National League Championship Series against the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday, October 22 at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California.
"It's just very fitting the way everything has gone for us this season, The ups and downs, the injuries, the personal issues, whatever. What a ride for us all. It's very, very fitting that it rained right there," Sergio Romo said.
The Giants ousted the Cardinals 9-0 in Game 7 of NLCS and went into World Series finals. They will be meeting the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday as they had already defeated the New York Yankees in their respective American League Championship Series.
"It's about the team that's hot, and we went on a cold streak, We got to this point by being that team that was hot and taking advantage of opportunities. we just couldn't make it happen these last two games," Cardinals’ manager Mike Matheny said.
Giants’ entire batting line-up performed and earned a great victory for their team. They handled the Cardinals’ pitchers well and kept them under pressure during the entire game.
"If you look at the games we made a lot of mistakes and they didn't make any, They took advantage of those,” Carlos Beltran said.
Centre fielder Angel Pagan batted five times and scored one run and smashed two hits along with an RBI on his consistent .394 slugging percentage.
Second baseman Marco Scutaro scored one run and smashed three hits. He also batted quite well on his four at-bats while his slugging percentage remained consistent on .607.
Third basemen Pablo Sandoval added one run on his single hit while he also ran for an RBI on his four at-bats. He hammered the Cardinals' pitchers with great force and remained consistent on his slugging .586 percentage.
Right fielder Hunter Pence batted five times and scored one run and smashed two hits along with two RBIs on his consistent slugging percentage of .321 and helped his team oust the Cardinals with great focus.
