San Francisco Giants’ second baseman Freddy Sanchez still not recovered fully – MLB News
The San Francisco Giants’ second baseman Freddy Sanchez is still not recovered fully from his dislocated shoulder surgery.
Though he was expected to play in this year’s Major League Baseball Spring Training with full swing, but the Giants’ team doctors have recently stated in the media that he still needs some time to get back on the field. He is currently busy playing in Arizona’s
Cactus League with less thrust, but this type of game will not help him to play a Major League game.
Giants’ manager Bruce Bochy has recently come out in the media and tried to explain about Freddy’s level of commitment and about his game as well. He said, "I was honest with him -- I thought he was a little hesitant, He knows he wasn't quite 100 percent,
but I think he felt good that he took infield and made the pivot. That's a hurdle he had to jump. He was throwing, but not like he normally does, I just want to see Freddy pretty close to where he normally is.”
Sanchez also knows as how much time he still needs to make a successful comeback next season. He also stated in the media explaining his all concerns for taking part as full fit in the upcoming big League’s event. He said, “It's going to take some time to
get over the initial feeling. Today was a good start. Obviously I'm going to have ups and downs all year. It's part of the process. That can be done pretty easily."
A former Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates player, Sanchez is certainly a good player at second base. He has been playing in the Giants’ roster since 2009 and showing no loop holes in his game.
His total fitness and good form is certainly a healthy sign for the Giants who are looking rather aggressive in this year’s Spring Training and planning to achieve some persistent performance in the coming season. The entire Giants’ management is also hoping
that Freddy will be alright around mid season while from there on-wards, they will start the real push-up in their own division.
