The San Francisco Giants’ starting pitcher Matt Cain has impressed with his extraordinary fast and curving deliveries in the All Star game.
He represented the National League that won the All Star Game 8-0 but it was the initial thrust which proved helpful in NL’s triumph over American League.
Cain, a three-time All Star and seven year veteran in Major League Baseball, played tremendously and earned a great victory for his league.
He tossed two shut-out innings in Kansas City and gave the National League an early advantage.
Cain said, "It’s right up there with all of them, It’s definitely right up there with all of them -- there’s all the nerves, all the pressure, and all the excitement. That was a thrilling two innings right there."
Soon after the game was over, Cain was caught by several reporters who started asking several questions on his own performance and regarding some other things he observed in the All Star game.
Talking about many other things, he also talked about Buster Posy who seemed a little panicked to catch R.A. Dickey’s knuckleballs.
Matt said, “I think he was panicking about it a little bit. I'm gonna throw him under the bus, He told me he was a little worried if he had to catch it. Ruiz did a good job actually back there with him and he took it right in stride, a little bit worried
about having to catch him."
Cain, who has been playing in the Giants roster since 2005, is certainly having a great time in his career. His All-Star stint has further enhanced his confidence to compete well in the second half of the season.
His first half of the season has proved quite consistent for the Giants as well as for his own game.

On the other hand, his career stats also considered wonderful for a seven year veteran baseball player. His career ERA remained consistent at 3.29 along with 78-76 win-loss record, 1203 strike-outs and 1.18 WHIP.
It will be interesting to see how Cain performs during the second half of the regular season.
