San Francisco Giants surpass Houston Astros 6-3 MLB Recap
The San Francisco Giants surpassed the Houston Astros 6-3 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, June 12 at AT&T Park in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
The Giants entire roster played exceptionally well and ousted the Astros with great force. At any point of the game, the Giants never gave any chance to the Astros to take control of the game instead they kept their opponents under pressure and eventually
won the game in the end.
Though the Giants entire roster played as one unit, but starter Madison Bumgarner pitched tremendously and allowed only two runs and six hits. He also struck out 12 Astros batters and maintained his 3.08 ERA with great accuracy.
"I was definitely aware, They've been giving me (grief) since about the first day here since I haven't hit one. I'd just about (given) up on it, but I ran into one finally. I just swing hard in case I hit something, I wanted to run just in case. I didn't
want to have it hit off the wall." Bumgarner said with confidence about his particular outing in which he retired 12 batters.
Later manager Bruce Bochy said for pitcher Bumgarner, "He's probably got the most power on the pitching staff, incredible power really. I know in BP he's trying to shorten things up and not swing so hard. It's good to see him get one."
On the other hand, the Astros starter Bud Norris and closer Wesley Wright were the main players who gave the chance to their opponents to hit them freely. Both pitched poorly and lost the game for Houston.
Norris finished his 3.1 innings spell with three runs, three hits and three earned runs while his ERA rose to 4.81.
Closer Wright came and he too hammered with three hits, two runs and two earned runs. Losing the game in very bitter manner, both players remained useless for the Astros and could not save the game.
In the meanwhile, the Giants with this particular win, getting stronger in the National League West Division with 35-27 win loss and .565 winning percentage.
