  1. Well put, Emily :)

  2. San Francisco is currently experiencing an ocean breeze, Air from the Pacific is cold. If the city were to recieve a land breeze, from the east it would would bring much warmer temperatures to the area, as inland California is currently very warm.

Cool air blowing off the Pacific Ocean carries lots of moisture. The air is cool and has to release the moisture in the form of fog and clouds. When the cool ocean air moves over land, it heats up, as land warms up faster than water  When the air heats up, the air is able to absorb the moisture and the fog and clouds evaporate into the air. The air currents are moving from west to east, so as the air comes from the pacific Ocean it is cool, but warms up when as it passes over the city. By the time it makes it to downtown, it is warm enough to reabsorb all the moisture.
