The waiting has finally stopped for San Jose Earthquakes as the complete their spotlight search for a striker. General Manager John Doyle, after several restless nights, has finally found the right man for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 in Ecuadorean international Edmundo Zura
from Quito-based club, CD El Nacional.
“He’s a powerful guy who can get behind defenses and has a good scoring record in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ecuador-c2889,” Doyle to the media on Monday. “We’re looking for him to contribute, that’s for sure.”
The player will land in Northern California on a loan deal from Nacional. However, the agreement has a purchase clause that can be exercised next year.
Although the player comes from the Ecuadorian Serie A, Doyle still thinks that the loan deal is the right decision. The club was offered the same purchase option last year when the team secured the services of Brazilian attacker Geovanni on loan. However,
with one goal and three assists, the player failed to convince the management of his pedigree.
Despite Geovanni playing his part in taking the team to MLS playoffs, the management thought it was better off sending the player back to South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390.
The manager fears the same this time around, though, Zura bears an impressive record and a 6-foot physique to terrorise the defences.
The general manager compared him with Eduardo Hurtado from his days. “The loan figure is more reasonable, and it does give us a great opportunity to look at him and see how he’ll be in our league,” Doyle said. “I played against Eduardo Hurtado, a great Ecuadorean
in our league, a big, strong, skillful player. And I’m hoping this guy is the same type of player.”
The club are hopeful that Zura will provide a better presence in the box in the remaining 10-match season. The striker currently awaits his P-1 work visa and the manager has stated that the player is expected to don the San Jose jersey this Saturday.
