San Jose Sharks' defenseman Andrei Zyuzin rumoured on planning comeback into major league –NHL Update
After a number of comebacks this 2011 National Hockey League (NHL) offseason, like the one of legendary player, Jaromir Jagr, a number of other players who also left early, are now thinking that the time is right to finally make that decision whether to
return or not.
Being more of a confirmed report, it was learnt mainly through Russia’s leading sports website, SovietSport or better known as, SovSport,  that the 33-year-old defender had been thinking about a comeback for quite a while now and has even received a few
offers, something his agent, Paul Teofano, revealed in an interview.
Genadi Boguslavski, who is a reporter for SovSport, further made it official as he spread the news through social networking website, Twitter.
Andrei Zyuzin, a native of UFA, Russia, was selected as the second overall pick during the 1996 NHL Entry Draft by San Jose Sharks.
He played his first season in the North American major league with San Jose during 1997-1998, in which he participated in 56 games and registered a total of 13 points (6 goals, 7 assists) along with a plus-minus rating of eight and 66 penalty minutes.
The following season was his last with San Jose in which he played only 25 games and potted a mere four points (3 goals, 1 assist).
It was a transition to Tampa Bay Lightning from their as Zyuzin played three straight seasons with the Eastern Conference franchise, before moving on to New Jersey Devils, Minnesota Wild, Calgary Flames and finally, Chicago Blackhawks.
Zyuzin has played a total of 496 NHL matchups and boasts a 120 point (38 goals, 82 assists) record up until the 2007-2008 season.
He was drafted in the same year as a number of other well know superstars like Zdeno Chara, Willie Mitchell, Tomas Kaberle and Sami Salo, but was above all in selection.
The 6-foot-one, 208 pound defenseman never really found a consistent performing team for himself, which ultimately forced him to leave the league and take some time off, until now, as he feels better about himself, thus, making a comeback might just be his
best option.
