San Jose Sharks’ Joe Thornton confident for the Finals after the series-win against Detroit Red Wings

Joe Thornton and San Jose Sharks have all the reason to be glad about as they notched up a win in the seventh game against Detroit Red Wings and moved into the Conference Finals.
Talking to him after Game 6, he said, "Confident. Very confident. Extremely confident".
That shows the level of confidence that was present in the team as they knew that they could do it. Indeed, this was justified as Sharks managed to win the series against Red Wings even though they let a 3-0 lead slip.
The confidence was certainly there as Sharks never trailed Red Wings throughout the game and won the game by 3-2 in the end to clinch the series, 4-3.
By doing this, Sharks also avoided becoming the fourth team to let a 3-0 lead slip and lose the series.
Thornton was the creator of the first goal that was scored by Devin Setoguchi.
Sharks broke all shackles in the game and scored the goal during a power-play which was the first time it managed to do this as the last time Sharks did this was during the third game.
The team was very satisfied and rightfully so as it came up with a win at a stage when it was most important.
There were a lot of highs and lows for Sharks during the course of the series but if it wants to be strong in the Finals then it surely needs to step up its game and not let this series haunt it in the next one.
Sharks will also be glad to see that the game winning goal was scored by Patrick Marleau.
He was having problems finding the back of the net but things have gotten better and he scored the goal.
Marleau’s teammates say that it is good that he scored a goal as he will need the confidence once they start the series against the President’s Trophy winners, Vancouver Canucks.
When Thornton was asked whether or not he read the details about teams making their way back into the series after being down 3-0, he said, “I really honestly believe half you guys don't know anything about the sport. So I don't care what you guys read”.
While talking about his teammates, Thornton said, “I think you're kind of proud of each other. I'm sure there are doubters who said we probably couldn't do this, but that's two years in a row we've beaten a pretty good team. I think we're a pretty good team
now too”.
