San Jose Sharks is looking for a hero in Game 7 decider against Detroit Red Wings – NHL Updates
San Jose Sharks is hoping that a player from Sharks’ line-up would be able to come up with a dominating performance and then guide the team to victory. Sharks has seen Ryane Clowe bagging impressive performances on several occasions during the course of
the season and he has successfully performed on each of the occasions.
As for Game 7 of the semifinal series between the two teams, Sharks isn’t sure whether or not he will perform and win the game for Sharks.
If we talk about statistics then he has done quite well during the course of the series, scoring 13 points thus far. He was definitely missed by Sharks in Game 6 that he missed due to a lower body injury he sustained.
"He was at the rink,he had a treatment,he went home. He'll skate in the morning and if he can play,he'll play", Sharks’ coach, Todd McLellan, said.
Sharks certainly needed this tremendously talented and productive player in the last game when it was outshot 45-25 with some superb play by Red Wings.
In the end, the game ended with Red Wings winning 3-1 even though they fell behind early on. However, the important thing after this win was that Red Wings is level on 3-3 in the series and needs just one more win to make its way into the Conference Finals.
The amazing thing about this is that this comes after Sharks was superb in the opening three games and went into Game 4 with the chance of winning the series.
Although the game is taking place at the Consol Energy Centre, home of San Jose Sharks, it can’t be said that there is absolutely 100% guarantee that Sharks would win the game and make its way into the Conference Finals.
There is no effect of home ice in this series so far as Sharks lost Game 5 of the series while playing on home ice. Even though Sharks dominated the game and comprehensively outshot the opponents but in the end it was Red Wings who won the game.
Clowe is going to bring a lot of confidence into the team and things are also expected to get better if he plays for the team.
"He's one of our better players. He's our leader in the room", Couture said. "On the ice he leads by example. If Clowie plays,he'll help us. If he doesn't,other guys will have to step up".
The question that still hovers is that whether or not Sharks has what it takes to win the most important and full of pressure Game 7 after losing three consecutive game and slipping a 3-0 lead.
