San Jose Sharks to go all out against Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday -NHL Preview
San Jose has not had much to look forward to these past few weeks but the Sharks have built up immense frustration and are planning to let it out against Edmonton Oilers when the two teams meet on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
Edmonton does not have much to lose as the Oilers were dominated by San Jose’s state rival team, Anaheim Ducks, just a night earlier on their two-game California road trip which is to end with the Sharks.
"We're in a funk and we need to get out of it and get it going," San Jose defenseman, Douglas Murray, said. "It's easy to talk. We have to get it done on the ice, get some wins, get the confidence level up as a team. We're too good a team to let this go
on any longer."
Oilers may be down and out as they stand at number 14 in the Western Conference with 56 points and rank 29th overall this 2011-2012 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season, but the team is determined not to give up till the final moment.
"We're a young team and inexperienced, and maybe we're not getting the calls that maybe we should," said Shawn Horcoff, we're in 29th place, so we're not going to get a lot of breaks out there. The biggest thing for us is just to not complain, because it's
only going to make things worse.”
Edmonton saw their last win against Winnipeg Jets on Feb 27th but having been slacking ever since and is now on a three-game slide.
San Jose is not only looking for the win to snap their own losing streak but are working towards securing a playoff spot as they stand on the edge at number-eight with 73 points, above by only a single point from ninth place Los Angeles Kings.
Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks will be facing off in California 10:30 PM ET.
Prediction:
While Edmonton may just put up a fight, San Jose Sharks are expected to take the match during regulation by a lead of two or more goals.
