San Jose Sharks unable to win against Detroit Red Wings in game 6

The San Jose Sharks were leading the semi-final series 3-2 when the sixth game kicked off at the Joe Louis Arena on May 10, 2011.
The Sharks had already defeated the Red Wings at the Joe Louis Arena and some said this game was another repeat performance. However, this didn’t prove to be the case as the Sharks lost the game, and, effectively the series was put on level terms on 3-3.
There was big crowd that came to witness the game and resulted in the Sharks winning the game in the end. The Red Wings not only won the game but did so after a superb performance and completely outplaying their opponents.
"The performance tonight was disappointing", Sharks coach, Todd McLellan, said. "One team skated. The other team did not skate at all and that was pretty evident right through the first two periods".
The was game was similar to game 5, where the Sharks were the dominating force in the first two periods but in the end, the Red Wings managed to win the game with a superb performance in the final period.
The difference was that this time the Red Wings were on top for the first two periods after which, the Sharks started off as stronger of the two teams in the final period.
However, the Red Wings unlike the Sharks were successful in coming up with a strong performance in the final period after falling behind, which saw them scoring goals and winning the game 3-1 in the end.
Detroit were the undoubted dominators of the game, as they were superb in offence and defence throughout the three periods. Game 6 is a game that the Sharks would like to forget, as soon as possible, if they want to keep hopes of a Conference Final appearance
alive.
Sharks coach was hopeful that the team would perform well and said this when asked about the game being played at the HP Pavilion Center:
"A lot of you asked me before the series started what home ice meant", McLellan told reporters. "I guess we'll find out now".
