San Jose Sharks win 2-0 at the TD Garden against a strong Bruins side
The first game of Saturday saw the Boston Bruins play host to the San Jose Sharks at the TD Garden. This was the 782nd game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series with both teams playing the 53rd game of their respective campaign.
The game turned out to be a very clash with the Sharks managing to win it 2-0 in the end.
Logan Couture, centre of the San Jose Sharks was named the star selection of the match for his opening goal which turned out to be the goal on which the Sharks led for most of the match.
The home team made a decent start to the match as they came up with the early shots on goal. However, it was just a matter of time before the Sharks also got going. Both teams constructed some brilliant pieces of but the both teams defence was able to deal
with all of the pressure.
It wasn’t long until the first goal of the match was score. The goal was scored by Logan Couture from a brilliant backhand shot in the 8th minute that put the away side in the lead.
Boston Bruins made a few more goal attempts as the period neared its end but no further goals were scored.
The period ended with the Sharks leading 1-0 as they made 5 goal attempts while Boston Bruins made 8 goal attempts.
The second period saw both teams come out strong which saw them making goal attempts right from the start. The period saw some horrendous mistakes made by both teams in defence but unfortunately neither of the teams was able to convert the chances they got
into goals.
One of the chances in the match came for the Sharks with the just the goal keeper to beat. However, the forward was unable to find the back of the net. Boston Bruins were the better of the two sides as the period progressed but they too weren’t able to score
as the period ended. Some strong plays were observed during the period but still the Sharks led 1-0.
During the course of the period Boston Bruins made 10 goal attempts while the Sharks made 6 goal attempts.
After a very strong offensive battle between the two sides in the opening two periods of the match both teams took some time before they started to attack. The attacks were well worked and made after they saw spaces in the opposing team’s defence.
The final period was again a reflection of the previous two periods when it came to the offence. Chances came and went but no goals were scored. Boston Bruins and their fans didn’t give up till the end. They attacked with full force and a goal was seen.
Unfortunately, the goal was scored by the Sharks in the very last minute as they sealed the match. The goal was scored by Devin Setoguchi from a decent flick shot.
The match ended with the Sharks winning 2-0 in the end and made 7 goal attempts in the final period while Boston Bruins made 8 goal attempts.
