San Juan-Vieques Ferry?

I'm wondering if there is really a ferry from SJ to Vieques. I'm looking for information about it. I'd also appreciate the current schedule for ferries from Vieques to Fajardo. I've got a 6:30 & 11am departure on weekdays on an old schedule, not sure if there have been any changes. TIA

1. There is no ferry between SJ-Vieques, you can take a flight between SJ-Vieques.

2. The only ferry is from Fajardo - Vieques.

You are getting good advice as there is no San Juan - Vieques ferry.  There was a short-lived catamaran service which I think folded (or perhaps it is just seasonal).  I took the Fajardo - Veiques ferry.  I took the 1 p.m. ferry from Fajardo to Vieques on a Friday and caught the 1 p.m. ferry from Vieques to Fajardo the next day.

I would note that the ticket window for the ferry tickets in Fajardo doesn't open all that far in advance (based on my visit there last June) so no need to get there early to buy tickets as you'll be standing around in the heat.  The ticket office opened around 11:30-12 p.m. for the 1 p.m. departure (Fajardo).

Also worth pointing out is that the seas between Fajardo and Vieques are notorously rough (even if they look calm and you think you got lucky, they turn rough soon enough).   If you are prone to sea sickness this is important to know. It's not that bad, but if you have any inclination towards sea sickness you may want to either take precautions or take the plane.  The ferry trip takes an hour to an hour-and-a-half each way.

If you are driving a car rental to the Fajardo terminal, there is a huge lot a few easy blocks away that is gated and secure.  Cost $5.  It can be tricky to find the port at first but give or take a few wrong turns, you'll find it no problem.
