Sand in nikon camra lens?

i got a bit of sand in my lens while i was at the beach. my camera's lens won't go in anymore. is there a way to fix this?

  1. Unfortunately, no. Repairs will cost as much as a new camera so you may as well begin shopping.


  2. Hmm...

    You can try to give compressed air a try, but it's not so easy to get your hands on. You can try to blow into the area, and try to release the sand trapped in between. However, if that doesn't work, you're going to have to send it in.

    However, to remove the dirt, isn't going to cost you much money, the same thing happened to me, and it costs around 130$, however, if you don't want to spend that much money to replace the lens, you might have to go shopping for real as Edwin said.

    Note: those are canon's rates from my experience, nikon might be more expensive, or cheaper, not really sure though.
