Sanding and painting PORCH floor. What's the best sander to use?

I'm thinking a floor sander - rent it, rock and roll - it's over zoom! But there are these Palm sanders - would something like that be easier for a novice to use?

Well, would you rather crawl around with a palm sander for hours, or rent one that is designed for the job?

There are rental floor sanders that are novice friendly and the learning curve for the belt sanders is not long. You just need to keep it moving so as not to gouge out spots on the floor.

Is the floor wood or cement or what?

Please give more details.   You can rent a good sander at Home Depot or Lowe's.
