Question:

Sandisk or Sandisk Ultra for digital camera video?

I have an 8MP camera and want the best quality video I can get with it. If I get a faster SD card, will I get better video quality because it can handle a higher bitrate? If so I guess I should get the Ultra.

If I don't get the Ultra, will I suffer when taking shots in rapid succession or in taking video?

  1. The quality of your movies are dependent on which particular make of camera you have, and not on the speed of your memory card. However, buying a fast SD card is always recommended for shooting movies and when shooting continuous fames. If you only use a standard, slow card, your camera may struggle.

So, the Ultra II (or Extreme III) would make an excellent choice. Don't forget to format it before you use it and everytime you need to delete all images/files from it in one go.
