Sandra Maria Jensen shows exit to Grace Gabriel in second round clash at Yonex Dutch Open 2012
Denmark’s passionate shuttler Sandra Maria Jensen defied all odds and reached into Women’s Singles quarter-final after showing exit to Nigeria’s Grace Gabriel in second round battle at Yonex Dutch Open 2012 on Thursday, October 11, in Netherlands.
The most talented Danish shuttler Sandra, who entered into Dutch Open as an un-seeded shuttler, played with tremendous speed and perfection and remained successful in straight games in a decent fashion.
Sandra showed her brilliance on court as she employed all of her shots to put pressure on her rival and remained successful in winning this second round clash in straight games with a close margin by consuming 27 minutes in the arena.
On the other hand, the spirited Grace also gave a wonderful fight to her Danish opponent by playing with impressive speed and managed to stay close all the way until the ending points when she lost her focus and eventually crashed out with a respectable
score.
The opening game progressed in a nail-biting fashion when both contestants employed all of their skills to dominate the pace of rallies and entertained their local fans by displaying their fabulous skills on court.
Danish shuttler played to her maximum potential but failed to manage a huge lead in opening half as she could just manage an 11-10 lead until the break.
After the mid-game interval, both ladies continued putting up stunning show without committing any mistakes and reached at 19-19.
At this stage Sandra played with confidence and executed a few impressive shots which assisted her to take the game with a 21-19 score on the board.
In the following set, Sandra managed to remain in commanding position by playing attacking badminton all the way in opening half and took a decent lead of 11-8.
Sandra did not let her Nigerian challenger to catch up the difference as she did not drop the speed at any stage and managed to end up the set with a margin of 21-18.
The in-form Sandra stamped her mark over Grace in straight games in just 27 minutes with a decent 21-19 and 21-18 score on the board.
