La Blaugrana supremo rejected suggestions that he is on friendly terms with his Real Madrid counterpart and revealed that his hand of friendship was snubbed by the construction magnate.
Following up on his controversial remarks about Real Madrid’s 2011/12 La Liga conquest, Sandro Rosell came out in the open to further distance himself from the Capital club.
Responding to questions upon how he gets along with Florentino Perez, his opposing number in the Directors Box. The former Nike executive revealed that he is short on numbers when counting friends and revealed that Perez is not in the select group.
"I'm not a friend of Florentino. I have four of five friends in my life, no more" Rosell said.
While reflecting on Real Madrid’s Primera Division title success that finished http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s three year dominance of the Spanish top flight football, Rosell revealed that everything is as serene at the Camp Nou as ever.
The 48-year-old shared that La Blaugrana will continue to stay true to the club’s footballing philosophy under Tito Vilanova and added that Barcelona are unaffected by what their rivals are accomplishing.
"We will go back and defend the values that define the club. What our opponents could do is immaterial... Whatever happens, we'll stay firm in our choice of a model that Barcelona fans can never give up."
Rosell also gave out a plan on Barcelona’s future course of action to resolve sporting differences with Real Madrid or any other club.
He revealed that on an institutional level, he will respond to Perez’s claims, Andoni Zubizarreta will answer Madrid’s sporting director’s rants, Vilanova will answer Mourinho and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Casillas-c16815.
"If it begins with the president or the institution, I will deal with it. If it comes from the sporting director, Zubi will respond. If it's Mourinho, Tito will answer; if it's Iker, then Puyol."
Rosell also took out time to talk about his differences with Johan Cruyff, the former Barcelona honorary president who was stripped of his office by him. He stated that he has been a fan of the Dutch legend but it is the Oranje maestro who is his own biggest
enemy.
"I've tried to be his friend, but he's not particularly interested. I'm a fan of Cruyff, but the man who stopped being a fan is Cruyff himself."
