Tottenham Hotspur’s Sandro has revealed he is proud of his side’s display against Aston Villa in the English Premier League, despite the match ending in a 1-1 draw.
Even though Tottenham Hotspur were reduced to ten men for the majority of the game, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Rose being sent off in the 50th minute, the London side managed a decent result against the Villains. Sandro revealed they were now focused on the upcoming
match against Fulham.
Sandro said in an interview:
“It was a very hard game. It's a great point for us because we lost a player.
It was so difficult, every player was behind the line and Villa were only looking to defend. It was difficult to score.”
The Spurs players did admit he had wanted to secure a win against Aston Villa, since it was a crucial game for his side. Tottenham Hotspur are currently looking to finish at third place on the Premier League table, which is why they will be treating their
next fixture like a cup final.
Teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Younes-Kaboul-c37543 agreed with Sandro, claiming it would be a huge disappointment for him and the club if they failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season, especially since they had worked hard all season and had done well despite the
many problems they had to face.
Kaboul revealed:
“If we don't get into the Champions League, it's going to be very disappointing for us because I think we've had a very good season. I think we deserve the Champions League.”
While the fact that they failed to secure all three points against Aston Villa might come back to haunt them, all the Spurs can do now is hope they don’t slip up against Fulham. Kaboul admitted it would be the end of their hopes to play Champions League
football if they failed to guarantee a win against the Cottagers over the upcoming weekend.
He continued:
“If we lose next weekend, it's going to be a big disappointment. It's important for us, so we have to take all three points in the last game, definitely.”
