Tottenham Hotspur player Sandro was delighted after scoring only his second goal for the club in the 0-3 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage this past Saturday.
The Brazilian midfielder opened the scoring for the visitors in the second half of the game as Tottenham eventually cruised to a 0-3 victory.
This marked the player’s second club goal and his first in almost 18 months. The Brazilian fired home a speculative long-range shot that Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer really should have saved. However, the ball swerved and changed direction and went into
goal as Spurs grabbed their first of the night.
In-form striker Jermain Defoe then extended the visitor’s lead by scoring the second goal, and then shortly added another to round up the 3 points for Villas-Boas’ men. The victory over Fulham marks Tottenham’s third consecutive Premier League win, and puts
them at 4th spot, level on points with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the player expressed his delight and happiness and said:
“I’m very happy, so, so happy. It’s my first goal of the season but I’m happy because we won. It was a great game and a great win. Everyone played really well and we have to continue playing like this.”
Sandro also said that he aims on improving the attacking aspect of his game, and is targeting more goals in the coming games. He added:
“The supporters were fantastic again, right behind us all the time. We’re all delighted. Sometimes you have to shoot. I have to shoot more, to try more. It was a good goal. I’m happy because it was an important goal.”
Striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 was also pleased with Sandro’s contribution, and revealed that the player is one of the biggest personalities in the dressing room. He praised the midfielder’s work rate and lively nature. Defoe said:
“He is one of the biggest personalities in the changing rooms. He’s a fantastic player and he’s strong and doing well for us.”
Sandro is one of the 30 players nominated for the 2012 Samba Gold Trophy, which is awarded by the Brazilian Football Association to the best performing Brazilian player applying his trait in Europe.
