Sandwith set to finish first in News Handicap
Sandwith is all set to stand first at Musselburgh where he will participate in Edinburgh Evening News Handicap on Friday, May 25. The action is scheduled to start at 8:15 (GMT).
On the good track of 5 furlongs, the George Foster-trained gelding will test his racing credentials against 9 competitors such as You’relikemefrank, Here Now And Why, Cayman Fox, Missile Attack, Distant Sun, Lees Anthem, Myjestic Melody, Amno Dancer and
Drumpellier.
The winner will be awarded a prize cheque worth £2,588. The Class 6 contest is likely to draw a big bankroll along with a huge crowd.
Sandwith poses to be the most experienced runner on the card. The 79-race veteran horse has 8 epic triumphs to his name. During the last couple of months, the talented sprinter delivered some epic performances.
After grabbing a 4th position on March 27, the brilliant runner finished 5th in the very next outing on April 8. He stepped ahead to clinch 3rd top position in his second last race on May 3. He marvellously accomplished top
position in the subsequent start.
Thus, Sandwith has a lot of experience and talent under his belt. He seems to be quite confident to run to his best, having more than 90 percent chances to thrive.
None of the other runners can challenge Sandwith, hence he is going to be an undisputed champion.
However, each one of Amno Dancer and Here Now And Why will fight for the second top position.
Amno Dancer is still winless despite having run for 19 times so far. The Ian Semple-trained bay gelding finished 5th in his last start on May 11.
On the other hand, Here Now And Why has won 4 of his total 29 races to date. He is also a trainee of Semple. The brown gelding marvellously finished as a runner-up against 13 runners in his last outing on May 6. Thus, he is more likely to finish second today.
By and large, the competition will be packed with twists. Let us see who manages to carry the day. Good luck to all the contestants.
