1. This is a joke right Hammed could not carry Saddler jock and for Kieran27 please don,t mention Roy Jones Jr. in the same breath with Hamed Roy Jones Jr. is the best boxer who has ever lived and when you make a statement like that have something to back it up with please. Hamed is in the same class as Kimbo Slice all hype I am not going to dignify this ouestion with an answer

  2. I have to admit, Im going to answer this one and fully expect the complete rage of the Yahoo community to come at me...but I have to state what I think is painfully obvious.

Naseem Hamed was AWFUL!!!!!! Dont get me wrong, he did the Roy Jones route...he avoided good competition as long as he could. But his style was awful...his skills were lacking...and he showboated constantly against non rated fighters (low level contenders)...until he walked smack dab into Marco Antonio Barerra, where he was beaten like a child and completely outclassed..thankfully to never return to boxing.

Personally, I think Sandy Saddler would have beaten Hamed up with the ring post and then wiped the ring clean with him. Hamed had a good chin...so Ill give him that he could stand up to it for awhile...

...but no more that five to six rounds at best.

    Edit

BLOWBYBLOW...let me clarify. When I mentioned Roy Jones and Hamed, I didnt compare their skills. I was comparing their careers and how Roy Jones was very content to fight part time garbagemen and police officers as mandatory fighters. An all time great wouldnt have been concussed (yes....concussed) by Antonio Tarver...unless he had been fighting bums for so long his reflexes starting slipping due to lack of comp.

Roy Jones definitely the most gifted...but not exactly the highest in the heart department...sorry. d**n shame you cant take Roy Jones' skills and give them to someone that would make stuff great with it...like Arturo Gatti.

  3. Even though Hamed was years ahead of Sadler, and benifited from better training, better diet, and conditioning. Sadler would still take him out within 4 rounds. Mabey the 1st round.

  4. It's almost total defiance of logic to ever list these two fighters on the same WEBSITE, let along the same thread. . . .

While eating brunch (consisting of potato pancakes, sausages, and fruit) and tying his shoes while wearing a sombrero made of lunchmeat. . . . . Saddler would box circles around "the Prince" and perhaps even knock him out. He would win nine times out of ten, IF on that tenth time, Saddler was dead.

Anyone with THREE wins over the slickest boxer of all time, Willie Pep, doesn't even belong in the same ring as a tired, glammy hack like Hamed!

  5. i agree with kieran here, saddler is one of the all time great featherweight champions here, regardless of whether or not he got to an ageing willie pep.

if berrera can expose hamed's weaknesses, then saddler makes him pay for them.

all respect to hamed...he dominated the division, beating the WBO, WBA, & IBF champions, but in the end, i believe that mc guigan, fenech, nelson, and esparragoza would all have beaten hamed.
