I live in NW Florida and we have some gorgeous white sand beaches. ☺

Sandy beaches.  It hurts your feet too much if there are pointy rocks all over the place.

BTW, I think that the love-making scene in the movie "From Here to Eternity" was filmed on a sandy beach!

even though i go on holiday a few times a year im not a beach person but i would always choose sand over stone/pebbles

Well, if you're asking which I prefer... I'd say sandy beaches for walking on and sunbathing, but stony beaches for the landscape or photography.

Sandy beaches, but since i get bored quickly just sitting on the beach the stony beach will be fine as well, can make some castle's with stones, well, i could try.:)

Sandy, what fun would the beach be if it was just a bunch of rocks? You can't make sand castles out of rocks.

Both.  there is a beach near me that has a river dividing it on half, one half is a sandy beach and on the other side, which you can cross at low tide, are lots of rock pools and climbing cliffs with sand dunes behind, you can explore or relax, I love it there.
