Sangakkara injured, may miss Australia series
Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara is in doubt for the tour of Australia which commences later this month after a hamstring injury has left him fighting against time for the series. Australia and Sri Lanka play one T20I and three ODIs before the Aussies
move into Test match mode for the Ashes.

According to the Sri Lankan physiotherapist, Tommy Simsek, Sangakkara’s injury occurred when he was training on a mud-filled track. However, Simsek expressed confidence that Sangakkara will recover quickly and be fit to lead the side for the Australian tour.
Simsek explained, "It is a mild grade-one hamstring injury. He is currently under treatment and requires about two weeks to recover from the injury."
Currently, Sangakkara is ranked as the number one cricketer in the ICC Test match rankings, and has had an excellent 2010 with the bat. In the three Test matches that Sangakkara has played in 2010, he made 457 runs at a whopping average of 115.
However, Sangakkara was not the only player who was injured in the Sri Lankan set-up. Sri Lanka all-rounder Angelo Mathews was the other player who may not make it to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 with an injured left knee. Mathews’ knee injury means that he has not been able
to bowl for some time in the nets and if he does not improve significantly, he will be replaced by Thilina Kandamby.
Simsek said, "We are monitoring Angelo's fitness daily. At the moment he cannot put much effort on his left knee and is unable to bowl. He has time until the team leaves for Australia on October 16 to show improvement otherwise we will have to replace him."
