The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roda-JC-c40375 Kerkrade striker has confirmed that German Bundesliga and English Premier League outfit were interested in acquiring his services in the recently concluded summer transfer window.
Roda JC Kerkrade striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sanharib-Malki-c32495, has revealed that German Bundesliga side, Greuther Furth, and English Premier League outfit, West Brom, were taking keen interest in signing him this summer.
The Syrian international, who arrived at Park Limburg Stadion in the summer of 2011 after spending two seasons at Lokeren, had an impressive debut campaign in the highest echelons of Dutch football.
The 28-year-old hit-man netted a phenomenal 25 goals in 33 league appearances. His brilliant form in front of the goal garnered him interest from several European clubs including Greuther Furth and West Brom.
However, the former Germinal Beerschot talisman opted to continue plying his trade at Parkstad Limburg Stadion.
“Greuther Furth and West Bromwich Albion were interested, I heard. But there was no offer”, Malki was quoted as saying to Voetbal International.
The Syrian ace, who has thus far represented his national team in 10 matches, went on to reveal that a club from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Saudi-Arabia-c3000 was also interested in acquiring his signature, and was offering him a very lucrative contract. However, he wanted to remain competing
at one of the European clubs.
“Well, there was one from Al-Ittihad, one of the top clubs from Saudi Arabia. I could have earned ten times more than at Roda and been a millionaire. But I find myself to be too young to choose to go to such a country. If I went to Saudi Arabia then I would
disappear completely from western Europe – I’d be out of the picture”, Malki concluded.
The 28-year-old striker has commenced the 2012/13 campaign in the same form, already netting two goals in four league games.
Malki, who has an ongoing contract at Parkstad Limburg Stadion until the summer of 2014, would be keen to continue performing brightly, and help his side finish in the top half of the league table at the end, before making his dream move to play for one
of the top clubs in Europe.
