Sania Mirza shines again!
Adorned in a beautiful red sari, Sania Mirza glared once again on the title of every magazine, her smile as enchanting as ever and the same sparkling eyes. However, this time round, the tennis player did not pose for cameras for holding another trophy. It was a wide smile after the tennis ace tied the knot with the Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik on April 12, 2010 in Hyderabad. Her debut match in the India Fed Cup Team came as a roaring success in her career. She won all three singles matches and stood aloof right from the very start of her career. There was no stopping her ever-promising skills, which made her win the 2003 Wimbledon Championships Girls' Doubles title, teaming up with Alisa Kleybanova of Russia. Thus, she kept walking briskly through the continuous path of success and victories.
The Indian government in 2004 presented The Arjuna award, which is a very dignified award given by the Indian government to recognize outstanding achievement in National sports. She stands as the highest ranked female tennis player ever from India and has a career high ranking of 18 in doubles and 27 in singles. She further garnishes her contributions towards Indian sports by being the first Indian woman to be seeded in a Grand Slam tennis tournament. Born in a Muslim family, Sania has always been a practicing Muslim, praying regularly and observing the month of Ramadan. Her father and other family members trained her. She has gone on to say that her success would never have been possible to achieve without the continuous support of her family. Despite the ever-growing criticism for the short skirts she has to wear in the court from some Muslim religious and extremist groups, she has been able to defy the odds and become successful in her career.
The sensational and talented tennis player is currently out from the sport for some time. The star had last performed in a tennis tournament in the Dubai Open in February. She had complained of a wrist injury during the game that caused her severe pain while playing. A six-week rest was advised to her before she could be seen back in action again.

For her adoring fans, Sania in her twitter account said, “For everyone asking, my next tournament is in Birmingham, followed by Wimbledon next month.” This was reported by the Indian website indiaserver.com on Friday.
