Sania Mirza supports the rapid growth of tennis in India – Tennis News
Indian tennis professional, Sania Mirza, is the most inspirational tennis player and recently expressed her approval for an uplift project launched to alleviate the status of tennis in India.
Furthermore, she cleared the misconception that tennis is a sport only played by rich people.
In India, a great deal of work in even small cities like Raipur as it has to host the Gondwana Cup. At the VIP Club, the Chhattisgarh State Tennis Association plans to hold an all-Indian tennis tournament in the near future. She battled through the quarter-finals
of the PTT Pattaya Open held in the hard courts of Thailand.
The right-hander Indian professional is one of the most leading tennis professionals displaying outstanding performance many times in the past. She contested in the first round of the Australian Open held at the hard courts of Melbourne as she lost in straight
sets against the Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova.
The 26-year old, Mirza, manifested an average performance for most of the championships. She was unable to rally beyond the final qualifying round at the Sony Ericsson Open held at the hard courts of Miami.
At the Brussels Open an ATP Main Tour Event, Mirza faced a straight sets defeat in the first round. She performed at a satisfactory rate in the qualifying rounds but in the end, lost at the hands of Romanian, Monica Niculescu. The AEGON International held
the green grass courts of Great Britain, the Indian made it until the second qualifying round.
The Indian tennis ace was the chief guest for the ceremony and said, “In coming years, Chhattisgarh will surely produce many national and international players like Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes. As a female player I wish any national and international
level tennis player from the State should be a girl.”
As a professional, she has played at a better pace in the doubled and the mixed doubled category in most tournaments. So had bagged home just one title in the singles category and 14 doubles trophy with her compatriots.
The Chief Minister Raman Singh enjoins a great deal of effort of the upgrading the tennis as a sport. Due to this, a favourable atmosphere is developed by allotting four synthetic tennis courts to facilitate the players.
