Sanjeeth S.–Jagadish Yadav beat Jimmy Yu Lun Tay–Kay Ee Yeoh in qualifying round of Singapore Open
India’s Sanjeeth S. and Jagadish Yadav found a good start in Men’s Doubles qualifying round when they defeated Malaysia’s Jimmy Yu Lun Tay and Kay Ee Yeoh at the 2012 Singapore Open Super Series on Tuesday, June 19, in Singapore.
The India shuttlers Sanjeeth and Jagadish showed their impressive skills in their opening contest in the tournament and outplayed their Malaysian opponents without losing any game.
Sanjeeth and Jagadish employed all of their skills in the court as they played to their maximum speed and overpowered their rivals in just 23 minutes by ending up the contest in straight games.
Jimmy and Kay, on the other hand, showed their class in the opening game when they remained toe-to-toe until the end of opening half but remained unlucky at the concluding points and lost the set.
The Malaysians could not put up strong resistance in the court as their Indian opponents were on a different level this time. Jimmy and Kay lost the second game with a comfortable score.
The in-form Sanjeeth and Jagadish started their run in a confident way against the Malaysians and remained neck-to-neck until the end of opening half.
Both sides continued putting up thrilling show in front of the local crowd and reached at the thrilling stage of 20-20.
At this crucial situation, Sanjeeth and Jagadish controlled the nerves and did not make any mistake. They were composed in the court and managed to win the set with a tight score of 22-20.
In the second game, Sanjeeth and Jagadish continued their positive run in the court as they did not let their Malaysian rivals to put up strong resistance this time.
Until the one-minute break in the second game of this Men’s Doubles qualifying round contest, both pairs remained close.
After the interval, Sanjeeth and Jagadish showed a wonderful aggression and played attacking badminton while controlling the game and managed to take the set with a superb 21-16 margin on the score board.
Sanjeeth and Jagadish won this straight set qualifying round contest in just 23 minutes with a reasonable score of 22-20 and 21-16.
